What is urea breath testing for H. pylori?
Urea breath testing (UBT) is a non-invasive, breath-based test used to detect the presence of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria in the stomach. The patient will blow into a baseline bag before drinking a urea solution and blowing into a second bag. Analysis will be done on the two bags to look at the difference between them and provide a positive or negative result.
